Founder Story
Healthcare has always been personal to me.
After graduating from the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) program at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) in 2008, I dedicated my career to anesthesia, spending the majority of my clinical practice specializing in cardiac anesthesia. Working alongside surgeons, anesthesiologists, and hospital leaders in some of the most demanding environments in medicine taught me that exceptional patient care depends on exceptional providers—and having the right clinician in the right place at the right time can make all the difference.
Throughout my career, I also saw the challenges hospitals faced in maintaining reliable coverage. At the same time, talented CRNAs and physicians were searching for greater flexibility, better opportunities, and a staffing partner they could genuinely trust. Too often, providers felt like they were just another number in a large staffing system.
In 2019, I founded Locums at Heart to change that.
The vision was simple: create a healthcare staffing company built by a clinician who understands both sides of the equation. Instead of focusing solely on filling shifts, our mission is to build lasting relationships with providers and healthcare organizations, matching highly qualified clinicians with facilities where they can make the greatest impact. We believe staffing should be personal, transparent, and centered on people—not transactions.
Today, Locums at Heart continues to connect healthcare professionals with opportunities across specialties while remaining committed to the values that inspired its founding: integrity, responsiveness, and putting people first. Every placement represents more than a contract—it represents a commitment to supporting hospitals, empowering providers, and ultimately improving patient care.
At the heart of every successful healthcare team are the people who serve it. That’s the philosophy behind Locums at Heart, and it’s the principle that continues to guide everything we do.
